Montipora ID? flabellata?

I found a unusual looking slightly bleached Monti at my lfs, it’s colouring up to a red. But I been trying to ID it.

As you can see the texture is unusual, very regular, small round nodules across its surface very uniform with tiny polyps inbetween. Is it Monti flabellata?

I’m excited to see how it grows out, looks like it’s probably encrusting. But very cool textured Monti, like it’s got some crazy acne problem! Lol

Also might sound strange, but I thought it was a superman Monti at first glance, the polyps were red but I thought the flesh was blue, but it was actually bleached white. Now it’s recovering it’s solid pinky red.

Lots of polyps for sure ... either way whatever it is, it’s a keeper!! Good catch & yes I do the same thing whenever I’m at the lfs ... searching for something bleach &/or unusual.

I have ended with some peculiar corals ...

Me too! Gotta love the weird and wonderful. Can’t wait to see this one when’s it’s mature.

Oh and blue tinge, is actually the colour of the skeleton underneath. Pretty weird aye?!
