Hello from the UK. I have just bought this small frag approx 1/2 to 3/4 inch square. I was told it was Beach Bum but it doesn't look like any other images I have seen of Beach Bum. Any help in confirming one way or the other or even alternative ID would be appreciated. It has only recently been fragged so I don't think it is yet fully settled but its a very nice light to mid pink. Many thanks

Just looks pale but it sure resembles a JF Beach Bum.
Here’s one I found on the internet here in America.

Thanks for the reply. There was no link or attachment to your post.
It may be pale if just fragged and only been in my tank 2 days and on sand bed. Do think I should move up from sandbed even though only 2 days.
I did find this on Ebay which resembles it except not yet fully settled.

The polyp color does not point to beach bum. Maybe a daylight picture?

Looks like a Bloody Mary to me.

Your going to have to let the coral color up to get a good ID.
Yes I realise that. At the moment still on the sand bed and wondering if I should have it higher in the water. If it is Baech Bum or similar I had read it needs low light.

I haven't managed to get a better image at the mo so have to see what happens when it settles more

Well if it was a trusted seller then it’s a beach bum in poor conditions, if you aren’t 100% positive with lineage, then just let it sit on the sand bed and wait for it to color. Might be better than a beach bum, or just a single color montipora, which are nice..but not that sought after.

Thanks very much for your further thoughts. I have left on sandbed like you have suggested. There is some suggestion now from the seller that a maybe Phoenix. I’m seeing him tomorrow so I will see what he says.
