Hey all,

I'm still pretty new to the hobby so a lot of these corals are really hard for me to ID! I wasn't planning on any SPS frags yet as my tank is only 4 months old but this was given to me as a free frag. Good news is, I have coralline algae starting to form on my powerheads so I think I'm headed in the right direction!

Right now I have it mounted to a rock and the rock is on the sand bed. It sees about 100 to 120 PAR currently in this area. Need help ID'ing so I can take adequate care of it. Flesh color appears to be almost a lavender purple and the polyps are like an orangey-coral color.

Thank you!

Nice, thank you. So it looks like I will need to move it up for some more PAR then.
Yes. But looking at its current placement, I think flow is more of the issue. Montipora is a high flow loving coral. You need to put it either on the upper areas of the rockwork or on a frag rack.
