Montipora problems

I'm not really happy with my lighting at the moment either. I have a hydra 52 hd and the light is awesome but I feel like I need another one to get the right spread and diffused light. I would like to supplement with t5 but I have no clue how I could make that look good hanging over this tank. I get a lot of dark side recession from all the shadows. Thinking about going with a small t5 metal halide combo

Lighting likely is not the issue. Zero nitrates and the addition of stump remover plus decreasing Alk could be an issue. It takes coral time to respond......which is why it takes months to recover from 'badness.' Two months seems like things are stable, but could be noticing effects from those changes.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I don't want to make changes if things are responding to something that happened months ago.
