Montipora Show Off Thread

Monti digi all hate me . And plates for tat matter two . Encrusting I have a little better luck. However there is a small peace of purple plating monti that is growing. It’s actually my favorite plateing montie so cool !
i bought a green digi that almost died and has brown out . But it’s recovering. I think my lights are to strong ( halides ) because acropora do ok for me.
Montis can take quite a bit of light in my experience. What are your magnesium and potassium levels? If those are low montis tend not to do as well.

I haven’t checked my magnesium in some time . ( 3-4 months ago) but I do monthly 25% water changes. Red Sea blue bucket salt mix . That parameters I check for are temp, alk, phosphate, nitrates. And SG . Lately I’ve been thinking of inorganic phosphate? Because of no skimmer. So I set a HOB skimmer, with a timer to 3 hours a day in one hour intervals. But all it did was kill all my macro algae. So it’s on 1 hour a day . Usually nutrients are spot on . Phosphate @.040 and nitrates @12-16 . I dose kalk through a doseing pump maintaining all @ 8.4 honestly I never check calcium.
the only time potassium has been checked is last summer during a icp test . Thx

Just got my first one. Can’t wait to watch it grow E2135E73-B698-4B2D-B1BD-AE971489DF4E.jpeg

These are so beautiful. How did you manage to bring out the green like that? Trick of photography, or the green truly shows like that irl?

[EDIT]

Whoops, post-midnight brain. Saw 2011 as 2021 lol, oh well hopefully Brad is still around to answer my question I suppose. XD

LEDs help with color pop , and low nutrients. High nutrient levels tend to make all sps into brownies .

I was thinking more of, which particular spectrums for LEDs. I was watching this vid: which talked about the effect of different spectrums, which was great except they did not really mention how to bring out green colors, and so I continued to ponder if there is any specific spectrum that'd help that, or if it was more just, well, good lights and low nutrients.

This has a few names, but we know it as the Ultra Chrome. One of our favorites and fastest growing montis.

Just got my first monti! I was told it wouldn't glow under my blues and that I needed to add a bunch of white to the mix, but...

The left cap is my buddy's. It's not in my tank anymore. The purple in the back is the one I'm hoping really gets some pop, but I understand purples usually don't look super nice under blues.

Fruity pebbles monti can look change under different lighting, but it looks good no matter what.

Can anyone identify this?

And is this a monti? The plug came with some shrooms that I moved elsewhere and I noticed some small red polyps, so I left it. As it has grown, the green has come out.
