I just bought a red montipora like 2 weeks ago and it is starting to turn brown. The coral is 16 inches under the light in a high to moderate flow area

My tank is 120 gallons heavily stocked with a 55 gallon sump.
I am running the tank with a 200 micron sock (changed weekly)
a reef octopus diblo 250x rated for a 300 gallon tank
I have 250lbs of live rock
My return pump is a rio hyper 32f doing 1900 gph
I have two eco tech mp40s
For lights I have two ai vega color's
all blues turned up to 55 - whites greens and reds turned up to 15
the lights are 4 inches above the water line
All my parameters are where they should be

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry to much.. It will take some time to color back up,All mine when i got took about a month to get there color back.

no idea what it was under before I got it.. I could ask the guy I bought them from who shipped it to me. My Blues, Deep Blues, and Royal Blue leds are at 55% and my Reds, whites, and Greens are at 15%

Well its always good to know what is lighting a coral b4 you buy, It could of been under MH at surface, I would definitely find that out from now on, I use to get corals and they would never look like what i bought only to find out there under MH , I was so disappointed because it took 3 months to color up under my T5, The only reason for asking is to see what the best placement would be starting off.

no it was really good advice and I appreciate the input. now I can ask what kind of lighting it was under and that its not unusual for them to turn a brownish when first introduced

well i just made a huge mistake in my tank my alk read 139 and i usually run around 150ppm but when i put it in the chart i forgot to switch the calculator and somehow it said add 300 ml of alk, which i did duh ,now i got a spike in there form 7.7 to 10.2 , im so panicking right now but i think im still going to be ok since i usually run 8.5 and 10.2 isnt that high. but im about to change out 25 gallons of water and maybe bring it down...One thing in this hobby is to go slow ,and im not use to going slow I hope your coral does come back and keep us updated..
