Did ask the question on the ‘general’ thread and was advised to ask on here too.
Is this receding/bleaching. I was told it likes a lot of light so it is at the top of the tank almost directly under the LEDshave a reef photon and run 90% blues and 50% whites. My water measurements are:
Salinity - 1.025
Alkalinity- 9 dkh
Calcium - 423ppm
Magnesium - high at 1500 but it seems to stay there consistently
Phosphate - 0.25

I run a reactor with ‘carbon dosing pellets for nitrate and phosphate degradation’. Instructions say put a maximum Of 200ml of the pellets per 100l - as I have a Reefer 170 that would be a maximumof circa 300ml and I’m running at 200ml. Should I increase or use another form of phosphate Reducing media?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Do you know what your nitrates are?

As I mentioned in your other thread, pretty sure thats bleaching from too high of light. While they are SPS, mine prefers more subdued lighting as opposed to being blasted by high light.

Honestly, since it's starting to bleach, if you could, put it in the sandbed for a few days and see if it starts to recover.

When they are super healthy and growing, you should have a thin white ring around the entire outside edge of the coral. Thats the growth ring, that starts out white, and colors up as more grows in.

Done - thanks for the advice. Fingers crossed.
