Hi I just bought the LSM module which uses the seasonal table to set new moon, moon rise and moon set. This works as advertised but the intensity at full moon is so high that the fish will likely try to jump out!
Now in the manual for the apex, there is supposed to be a setting in the moon seasonal table called INT, short for intensity. Where is it? It doesn't exist! This will reduce the full moon and all cycle intensities by a percentage. For example, setting INT to 10 will set the full moon intensity to 10% of 100. I.e. 10. However, this parameter is not there even though the manu says it is.
The LSM is useless without this!
Any suggestions? I'm thinking of neural density filters and a 3d printed holder for them but I would rather just use the software AS STATED!

Now in the manual for the apex, there is supposed to be a setting in the moon seasonal table called INT, short for intensity.
This int is the internal schedual that apex follows to turn the moon led on and off, it follows this schedule to change the day to intensities to mimic the moon phases.

If you want to chang overall intensity you need to create a profile for apex to run. I called mine Moon_int set profile to ramp 1 minute, start and end intensities the same, I set mine to 3.

My lsm code

Set OFF
If Moon 000/000 Then Moon_int
If Time 10:30 to 21:30 Then OFF

Apex still follows the lunar table, but the intensities are variations of what you set in the profile. In my case full moon would be 100% of the 3% limit I set in the profile.
this still allows a natural like moon cycle while still limiting overall brightness.

Hi
Great. Could you please show me the code for Moon_int? Kind of new at this.
Thanks!!, Tom

To create a profile click the icon that looks like a folder. This is where profiles are made 4th icon from the left.
Profile.jpg

the profiles page will look something like this, if you dont have any they will be named pf01 through pf37.

rename one to Moon_int

The internal moon phase intensities are 0-100%
This ramp profile limits the maximum intensity 0-100% of what you set in the intensity profile. I have the 3 led string over my 75 and at full moon 3% is almost bright enough that the fish don't sleep much. If you find that 3% is to dim for you change it to a higher number.

The moon phase will still follow a 0-100 moon phase but in my case it follows 0-100% of 3% so at full moon intensity is 3%, half moon my intensity is 1.5% 1/4 moon its about 1%, new moon its zero

That ramp profile acts like a dimmer while still allowing actual moon phases.

Perfect, exactly what I want. I wish Neptune would have this described in the manual!
Thanks very much. I appreciate it. As an aside, I ordered two photographic neutral density filters and was going to 3d print holders for them with the moonlights to lower the brightness. They are so bright, the fish would probably die.....
