So I have never had moonlights on any of my tanks but they do intrigue me. What are the benifits besides being able to see some of the critters that comeout at night? Will the fish benefit from it at all?

my tank is in the livingroom where there is only 1 small lamp I got a moonlight strip so that when the MH goes off the moonlight comes on I think it gives the fish time to find a place to sleep instead of suddenly being in the dark

leds will help to simulate the moons cycle in the reef inviroment and is very helpful to all critters in the tank....especially if you have a dimmer on them to be able to control the output to simulate the moon rise and set...controllers make it alot easier to simulate the moon cycle..

I have eight blue LEDs on my 48" light. Looks like what I'd imagine a shallow reef looks like if you were to scuba dive at night. Very cool and it doesn't cast too much ambient light into the room.
