Moorish Idol Question with Picture

Just wondering how this idol looks to those that know Idols.. hes been a little pig attacks frozen mysis cube like its his last meal, just awesome had him in quarantine a while, finally added to display few days ago and just beautiful to watch .. only food the idol don't touch is Brine Shrimp that I throw in the tank..


Anyway. thoughts on how he looks not very old yet.. exact age I have no idea.. maybe someone can shine in on that aswell?
also sorry for the dirty spots on the glass its not on the IDOL. lol

Fairly young still. Moorish idols are 3 to 4 inches already when the settle out and gain color. I have caught them in Hawaii with larval colors at 3 inches before.
 
I would say he looks great. We had one for 4-5 years at the LFS i worked at years ago. Getting them to eat is the hard part, seems like you're in luck with him!
 
Your Idol looks nice, what other foods do you feed your tank, other than the clown, what other fish are in the tank? Do you know where your Idol was collected from?
 
as far as LFS was told Hawaii area..

mysis, nori(red and green) new life spectrum Pellets, mostly..

as for fish.. argh … here it goes lol 135 gallon 6 foot tank

1 blue chromis
1 yellow tail prick (angel 5~ inches)

1 Milk Goby
1 Green Mandarin
1 Red striped tile fish

The sailfin tang didn’t beat him up?
 
nope I can hand feed that sailfin and pet it.. its so docile... has never picked on anything I put in the tank and have put a lot after him.

occasionally the yellow tail prick chases him but ends just as fast.. I keep em well feed as to keep the aggression down..
