I currently have a moorish idol in my tank and is eating like a pig also very lucky for it not to pick on any of my corals. Again very "LUCKY" I don't really believe anyone when they say you can't keep a moorish idol or a regal or an emporor angel fish for example in a reef tank. It all comes down to luck they may they may not. Every fish has its own personality. I currently also have a emporor angel and he is eating well and not touching corals. The only thing I can say is that you feed them alot! I feed my tank 4 times a day so they stay nice and fat and full. With moorish idols I also think the Australian caught one's are easier to keep. I have had 2x moorish idols previously and they were attacking my corals my clam they were monsters lol. It's all pot luck guys!

Welcome!!!

Welcome to R2R. I hope the great fortune continues. I love emperor angels. It isn't so much about keeping them fed, but keeping them healthy. These fish have a difficult diet. Yellow belly regal angelfish seem to be easier to keep than the grey belly. Theory is, the grey belly needs a lot of sponge in the diet. This also applies to the morish idol.

Best of fortunes!

Welcome! Glad you joined. Looking forward to seeing photos!!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. Like you, I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
