cool! Where in Hawaii?? I recently came back from maui a month ago and didnt see anyI’m not, but I just came back from Hawaii and seen so many moorish idols on the reef. It was super cool!

Maui! Right outside my hotel lol At ka’anapali beach(west Maui)at the black rock everybody cliff dives off of. We swam with sea turtles, saw a bunch of moorish idols, huge yellow tangs in schools of like 20/30, 10”-12” sailfin tangs, Achilles tangs, humu humus And like 6 other species of triggerfish, parrotfish, snowflake/Morray eels, convict tangs, unicornfish, blonde and regular naso tangs, , powder brown tangs, and yellow eye like tangs.cool! I seen a few in Maui by themselves but yea the majority were paired off or in 3’s for sure.People are finding morish idols like to be in a group of 3 or more. There's been more cases lately as of keeping them single. But that's probably after getting them to eat.
Edit: bob fenner said they do best in a pair. They are often found in the wild as a pair.
makes sense.
