I solved the Acans attack issue by giving my LFS the Peppermint's. NOW my Mithrax has decided that it wants to sit in the middle of my leather Toadstool. When I checked the tank this a.m. the Toady was bent over with no tentacles out. Then I realized the Mithrax was sitting in the middle of it. That's the second time I have found it there. I haven't seen any tissue damage, but after my experience with the Peppermint's and the new Acans I'm a little paranoid. I'm wondering if it was feeding off the slime coat on the Toadstool, or if it just likes to hang out there. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Sorry, but this sounds kind of comical. I know our critters can often cause nuisance issues just by doing what critters do. :-) I don't know of anything he'd be eating up there, so maybe he just likes the view. Got a pic? It might help to diagnose what he's after.

T'is a bit comical and if I weren't so PO'd about the shrimp devouring my new Acans I'd probably chuckle more. I ran it off the Toadstool when I saw it there and when I got home this evening the Toady was fully extended, apparently none the worse for wear, so I guess it just likes hangin out there. I couldn't tell if it was really eating anything as it was early and I hadn't woken up fully yet. The Toadstool sure looked pathetic tho, lol, all drooped over with no tentacles showing. If (when) it happens again I'll try for a pic.

All of the livestock we enter into our DT need to be fed. I always had to feed my shrimp first or they would steal the food I was trying to feed my LPS's.;Jawdrop

Trust me. Those little buggers were getting plenty of food. They were even ripping off the Ocellaris, right in front of their faces!

If he's eating Sarcophyton, good luck to him. Pretty much invincible and nothing really eats them in the wild... must be the reef equivalent of Brussel sprouts...

On a serious note, I doubt he is, but if you do see him take a nibble then he'll be after those acans too once he realised how much tastier they are.
