I need some input from the LED guru's here.
I have an opportunity to make an adjustment to my lights but don't know which way to go. Please help me make a good decision here.
My goal is to retire my AI Primes and use only one unit to light my tank.
Option 1 - upgrade remaining Gen 1 to Gen 3 Pro with wide angle optics. The cost for this is $305 total. Con here is I have to send it in, which is fine as my tank is currently running on the Primes only. The second con is my light will still technically be old just with new internals.
Option 2 - replace Radion and Primes with AI Hydra 26 HD. The cost for this is $349. The con is I have no confidence in this being able to run my tank alone. Pro is it would be completely new and bought locally.
Which way should I go? I already pulled down my Radion and have it in a box to send in if I decide to go that way, if not it is ready for trade\sale. I have heard very good things about both units.
I have a 40 breeder and only really keep anemones, ricordia, a couple softies, and some zoa's.
