Next question ..
when placing frags .
how much space between them allows for growth ?

ive always kept them in frag racks until too big before moving

trying a different approach for placement after seeing my green monti encrusted on the frag rack .
place them and leave them grow

This depends on the space you have available in the right growth zone (light and flow) and the type of coral. Some grow out some grow up. Think about it like a flower garden except given enough time and correct parameters your coral can grow as much as you want. The key is to visualize your tank as it could or will be and not as it is. And you can always trim (frag) and then sell or give away the extra. No different than plants, trim them back when needed. I like a minimum of 3 inches around them. But others place closer or farther away.

Distance depends on growth pattern, ask seller for pictures of mother colonies to get an idea how they grow. Honestly they grow faster on rock, frag racks have minimal par and flow, also rock houses bacteria which are good for coral health, the frag rack is non porous. Place them after acclimation and let them grow.
