Has anyone here had experience with Parascorpaena Picta?
I found one for a good price and would love to bring him home. I just haven't heard a lot about them.
The only information I can find is they max out at around 16cm. Not sure if that's a common size or if that's absolute maximum size.
Are they aggressive or fairly placid? As far as ambush predators go haha.
If I get him, he'd be going in with potentially a yellow spot scorp, valentini puffer and something else I'm yet to decide on.

I think he may be a little on the big size to go with the others, just. And as a scorp it shouldn't be terribly aggressive :)

Thanks :)
He's only about 8 cm at the moment, so would probably be safe for now. I may pass on him though, don't really want him eating the puffer when I eventually get them.

Yeah, especially if that means he may die also :/

I wouldn't put the two together.

Often when you see size reference, it's the maximum size seen, not the commonly seen size. O.O Now, that's a mouthful of a sentence. On my site, the sizes are those you'll commonly see. I figure it's not a Guinness Book of Records and is not the place for the unusual.

I don't know anything about the S. Picta. You'll see a lot of different fish down there than here. I love seeing what you come up with.

These "size questions" is why I ended up with 14 tanks. I'd buy fish and let them grow up to see who was going to ultimately live with who.

I'm not going to add the two different species. I'll eventually have two yellow spots in the same tank, but move one to my refugium if they don't get along.
Hahaha I'm trying to avoid having that many tanks, despite the fact I'd love to!!
