Well that was just forwarded to me. This one is odd to me because they really dont seem endangered but these will affect the hobby some what because it includes chromis and several other popular fish.

I am seeing more of these lately and it looks like the Hawaii stuff isn't over yet either. That is a long read and I have not had the time to read it all....

Sounds like they need to be protected. This makes the aquaculture of clownfish/damsels even more important for both the hobby as well as preservation of the species.

Many more animals and more importantly whole areas of the reef need this kind of basic protection IMO.

According to the distribution map, percula do not occur in US waters. Do then intend to ban ownership of the fish?

To a point they spawn every 14 days. but keeping the fry alive is the tricky part!

It's true that clownfish are at a point where they're bred so much to the point that anyone can get a tank bred clown for an affordable price, but it does make me a bit sad that we won't be able to bring in those crazy patterned ones that occur in nature like the lighting maroon.
