Is it possible for my tank to house more than 2 Clownfish? I have a pair that have been with me for 2 years of regular Ocellaris and as of yet...no real distinction of which is the Female as they have both remained about the same size. They do spend all their time together though. I also have a pair of Black snowflakes in another tank (again no distinction as far as male or female) and I would like to if possible move them to my main system which is 255g. Ok or bad idea?? I do have a large acclimation box that I could and will use if moving them over....My only thought is I would hate to have to try and get them out if it did not work out .....

When we get to that size, it's possible, maybe, depending on the fish, species, and best chance if you happen to have a host for each at opposite ends, and that would include having luck on that alone.

My personal opinion, not really worth the risk, especially if you are really attached to one or both of the pairs.

I think you’ll probably be OK due to the tank size.

I got a 220 and one marroon clown AKA Pennywise she killed everything in my 150 even her male. She is more calm now but she will never get a mate she is 7 or 8 years old but will be my only clown fish.

60/40 in your favor would be the odds I would give it.

The fact you're dealing with 4 Occy and 2 pairs, combined with a lot of real estate is going to be in your favor.

Where in the tank do your current pair hang out would be my question.

Well I think I may try it with the acclimation box when I get home in a couple weeks...The ones I have now actually spend most of their time upper left in back near the return spout...I don't have any nems for hosting....They are funny and totally keep to themselves....I hope the rest of the real estate proves to be enough room!
