I have a 100 gallon tank, I have a pair of occy's (4 years) that hang out on the left side, (they kinda host a torch coral) I have a ritteri nem on the left side and want to add a set of clowns to host that. What are your experiences with more then one set of clowns in the same tank? What type would you suggest? My wife wants black clowns, I was thinking pink skunk.

I have had the orange/white and black/white in a 125g without issues.

If you do it, stay with less aggressive types like percs or occy's. I had a tomato pair and perc pair in my 180 and the maters had to go.

Here is my nem.

Here is A FTS occy's host on the right nem is on the left.
I think the trick will be getting the new ones to host the nem!

Fantastic looking anemone. I wish I was pushing my lighting enough to try one.

you hit the nail on the head. if you can get them to host you will be ok. i would stick with the same type of clowns......and listen to your wife. black occy are very nice. hehe they might even swap mates.. since yours are 4 yrs old, i would try to find an adult mated pair so if some fighting does (and it will) break out, they are even matched. if you put in juvi's they might not last long if your occy female is a bit aggressive.

or you could sell the old occy pair and start out with 2 pair of clowns at the same time. adding them all at the same time will work out really well most of the time.

When you add more clownfish it's always a gamble but it has been done. I have been able to add a smaller clownfish to a bigger one and they paired up immediately. I have been able to add skunk clowns to a tank with ocellaris with no problem at all. However I have had a fellow reefer where the ocellaris beat the hell out of the poor skunk clowns and he has a 500 gallon tank. You just never know. I have tried to add black and whites with orange ocellaris and it did not go well. I think you have a better chance if you try to add the skunk clowns.

Well I got 2 SA black clown today, everyone is getting along fine! My leopard wrasse has been the meanest so far. My orange occy's really don't care about them! Good news so far. Now if they just host the nem, may take some time but the clowns are awesome!
Here is a pic, I know a horrible picture but it's from my IPad and they won't stop moving!

That's great news!

Are your eatablished clowns laying eggs? That's when the aggression usually starts. Once clowns start breeding they become very territorial. If you get passed that without aggression you should be in the clear.

I have 3 pais of different clowns. They get along fine and don't show any aggression towards each other. But i have a large tank, (400g 84"x40'x24)
