I've had this morph coral in the tank a couple or months now. It started off rather large but I've noticed it's been shrinking. It was also completely bright red but now seems it has darker patches on it.

Could this be a lighting issue (too high)

I've just moved it into a lower light area of the tank as that was my first thoughts but probably best to get some advice on it.

Thanks

It still looks really healthy. Without seeing a "before" image it's hard to draw any conclusion. If your water parameters are all testing in the ranges you want, all your other corals are happy - it could be a combination of light and/or flow - so making a (small) periodic adjustment in positioning might be the only way to pin any issue down.

Can't really say without a before image or more info on what kind of lighting its been subjected to. But what I can say is: Yes, there is a causal relationship between the size of corallimorphs and the lighting intensity they are subjected to.

I actually use high-intensity lighting to deliberate drive them onto vertical rock faces and crevices. Those that do not make the move tend to only be a fraction the size of the large ones. While ones that dwell under overhangs are absolutely enormous.

OK so since I've moved it into a lower light area it's back to its usual size again and looking like it did before

Must of just been getting too much in the last spot
