Most Easy To Keep Zoa/Paly List

Another +1 on pink and golds surviving anything lol they were one of my first zoas and they have made it through the whole learning process I went through over the last 6 MO and still doing great!

As a noob, with a tank 6 months old... My rock of mixed radioactive dragons eyes and green Bay Packers is doing great!

I am about 100% positive the whammins are the same as eagle eyes just morphed a little.
Hey Rev, my genetic research suggests that this couldn't be further from the truth. Wham in watermelon is actually more closely related to safecrackers and la lakers than eagle eyes :) I can post my phylogenetic tree for everyone some time.

Peary zoas:
Mohawks
Anything green
Eagle eyes
Rastas have done really well for me
Anything brown
Red hornets (thriving!)
Purple death

Orange or pink zoas are practically instant melters in my tank regardless of where I put them

Jessica, I just stumbled across this... Please DO share!

Teal palys don't get me started with those. My biggest regret adding to my tank. Exploded like crab grass!

most PE's, watermelon or deepwater types because of the blue lights, and i woulkd say pink n golds for the win!!

oo and those blue palys and green buttons hahahaah but idt anyone really wants those!

As a newbies this is great for me. When this thread is made a sticky or when the poll is taken, can you please add photos so those of us who are zoa virgins can see what you're talking about? :)

A really old but good thread that should keep going (IMO). Anyone else want to add on to it?

Nirvanas
Scrambled eggs
Bloodsuckers
daisy cutters/stargazers
Beauty and The Beast - can't kill those things!

Nice thread! Old school too! I definitely agree with many of the older posts.
  • Gorilla nipples - These things grow like a weed and self frag to the point of being invasive. I have them growing on my back wall and frag rack and am constantly picking up 2-3 poly pieces that pop off and float around the tank. I just glue them to a new frag plug and pass them along to friends or the LFS.
  • Radioactive Dragon Eyes - These things grow really quickly and seem to tolerate a wide range of conditions.
  • Rastas - While I've only had them for 3 months or so, they've been growing very well almost tripling the number of polyps in that time.
