Hey, so I had velvet a while back and had to begin the long fallow period and stopped being as attentive to care since I had no fish and only a few easy to care for corals...long story short, I had a bad aiptasia outbreak and need to figure out a way to eradicate them...it's pretty bad so there's no way I can inject each one with lemon juice or anything like that...are there any products that target aiptasia on a large scale or what are my options to get this tank back to its former glory?

Hi, Peppermint shrimp worked for me. I was hesitant hearing horror stories but I think that’s due to wrong species. I bought 1 pair for a 60g and a month later aptasia free.

How bad are you talking? You got a pic?

I don't have a pic right now...it's not a total takeover (it could be worse) but we're talking many more than I could inject

Wow...I'll definitely give it a shot then... I didn't know there were inverts that preyed on them, I just knew about the filefish

Berghia Nudibranchs.

I thought they just disappeared after i put them in, but 2 months later - I put anything with aptasia on it in the tank, and its gone within a few days. i expect that they'll start running out of food at some point, since i cannot find aptasia in my tank now, but still see berghia crawling around at night...

it was the best option for me - i didn't want a file fish b/c of nipping corals. peppermints didn't work for me (tried 4 time from 4 sources), treatments like f-aptasia, lemon juice and kalk paste just made them come back with a vengeance.

I didn't think the Nudibranchs were reef safe. (thought they liked to nibble on coral) I actually like nudibranchs so if I come across one I'll pick it up as well.

Thank you guys for all the helpful suggestions so far!!

they are completely reef safe, usually thats is the reason they don't last in our tanks. Once they finished all the aiptasia, they starve to death, so no harm to any other corals.
