What are the most high end Zoas/Palys?

I'm talking like GRAND MASTER KRAKs. The highest of the high end. The rarest of the rare.
Which ones are they?

Considering.. and this is my opinion.. .. how close in coloration some are to others in the Zoa world.. I bet there are really only a couple handfuls of actual color variations or variations on a theme.. Are any of them actually worth a kings ransom? Not in the Zoa world.. but as some one once said, nail 2 things together that have never been nailed together before and somebody will buy it. Only make one of those available a month and it becomes a rarity.. so charge 100x. It isn't like they are really "High End".. the quality on a zoa is the same, it is only the price that changes. About a year ago, Utter Chaos had some value.. today.. none, why? you can make em really fast.. New color morph or a variation and BANGO.. charge more. If you want a new zoa, just dip em in peroxide and charge a bundle for it.. I found out if you leave a Bam Bam just a little too long in a peroxide dip.. You get a Rasta.. Not a very good one.. but looks like it just the same.. Or was that a Sunny D.. ??

Tell ya what. I got a zoa nobody else has. It looks like a Sunny D but it isn't.. I want $1000 a poly.. :)

I especially like your choice of an example. There are a half dozen varieties of "high end" zoas I see advertised regularly on this forum for $100 price ranges. They look just like one of the many, many variations on Sunny D, but somebody attaches a greek- or pokemon-themed name and voila, $100 a polyp!

Stratosphere, GMK, and Hephaestus are the only crazy expensive and high end ones I know but I’m sure there is a ton more. Stratosphere’s are basically non existent and pretty much like $3,000 a polyp so those are probably the most “high end” ones. Just buy what you like though. Personally I’m in love with Hephaestus zoas because they’re bowsers with better colors and have a nice yellow ring. I’m willing to pay a higher price for something that I love, but many think it’s crazy.

I understand the retailers wanting to make a buck.. But don't tell me it is something new to explain why you want WAY too much for something already out there in abundance.. Keep a reasonable steady price on stuff and it will sell. BUT everyone has to have that .. Hey look.. Sunny D with a couple black spots. That's NEW Gotta have it.. said a little to close to someone named. IDK. JoSep -- says.. "Yeah, just came in a shipment.. New out of.. Tahiti.. Very Rare.. !!! $200 for the 2 polyps. " GUY SAYS.. "What is it called?" Its a new one called "YankinYerChain" ......SOLD!!! Guy goes home and they multiply like crazy.. Cant get $5 a polyp for em.. Why?.. Its a Sunny D..

This isn't new to this or any other hobby really.. Every Zoa could be a simple morph..

Did you just prove my point. Bowsers with a yellow ring.. ? Not trying to be insulting here. Did you just say you might be willing to pay a much higher price for a bowser with a yellow ring?

Strats are difficult to keep alive.

GMK's are slow to get acclimated and need tank specs to be good and stable to reproduce (which they don't do very quickly).

I have no idea why someone would pay up for a Sunny D variant but to each their own.

Were Sunny D all the rage and expensive too at one time?

Strats look a little like Hornets to me.

I like zoanthids too. I am just not willing to pay for something there are literally MILLIONS of.. Kraks, Strats, Hephaestus.. Are not special THey are not High end zoas, there ARE expensive ones.. It is like you are saying its a difference between a Yugo and a Ferrari.. When all we are talking about is a paint job. Some may seem tough to keep .. for now. but I am thinking you wont need long to propagate zoas..

hephaestus are just bowsers are just candy apple reds, change my mind.jpg ;)

Wow! Thanks for informing me! I been in the hobby a few years and you learn something new all the time! I wondered how people could name their own zoas and title them! Are you telling l me they actually dip them in peroxide? I have always been scared to get peroxide on my zoas afraid it would harm them when I have cleaned my frag posts!

My GMK! Came back from the dead! LOL. I lost the first one and got another, and the other started to die and now there is 3! I started a few years ago and they were 500 a polyp! I see strats pretty cheap now and some of my faves are the cheapest like utter chaos and sunny d! I am starting to collect high end and have quite a few and more on the way and still looking for more. My LSOH are very bright but tiny polyps! I have a batch coming in a few days. I found some bozos at a good price. Are they still valuable?. Whats the rage in 2022?

I know this is an old thread but Starts are the only zoa that comes to mind when I hear “high end”. I remember ASD selling them for $200pp and I wish I jumped on that. They’re probably one of the few exceptions of a totally new and unique zoa/paly when it comes to pattern and color

I agree. I have been collecting high end lately and some I don t know why they are considered high end but my favorites are my heps, welll them and speckled kraks! ! I got a crazy good price on 10 polyps of heps to but you can just see high end all over them. The polyps are huge as well and crazy bright!! I have shazams which i hear are very much like bowsers and my heps are way nicer!
