Listen man, get a yellow tang. It will eat all of that hair algae. No more then one though since you only have 40g. Good luck
And then again my Yellow Tang does not touch algae. Over time I bought 4 different macroalgae for him to eat... nothing. Just: all Tangs are different.
But yes: anything that consumes algae is of help.

same size as this system. cleaning the system does handle a cause-detritus in the sand and stuck to all rocks. melting the current algae in the tank is opposite of the above, and lacks example threads so far. all the work linked has been manual cleaning/peroxide , we combine spot treatments with sandbed cleaning to collect all the fixes from page 2, hundreds in one thread.

First time i’ve heard that! Yellow tangs, also most tangs, are known for fixing algae issues. But it is very true that every fish is different. Good luck
