I set up my reef tank last October and it's been going fairly well so far. In February though, my long spine black urchin mowed down several small soft corals on my frag rack and my parents made me take it back (I'm in high school). Ever since its been gone though, hair algae has been slowly taking over the tank and despite my efforts with manual removal, it's just getting too much to keep up with. I want to get another Urchin since I've heard they're by far the best solution to hair algae in terms of CUC, but I don't want one that will turn on my coral since I now have much more coral in my tank. The tank is a 65 gallon btw, and in terms of CUC I have about half a dozen trochus snails, half a dozen cerith snails, 3 hermit crabs, and 3 nassarius snails. I also have a conch but he hides under the substrate most of the time and I rarely see him.

I have a 65g and a couple tuxedo urchins and turbos mowed all the GHA down in 3 weeks with no frag damage.

Rock anemones are good, an abalone will also eat a ton of algae
I've considered an abalone (although actually finding one for sale is quite hard). I've heard they usually stick around the glass though, while most of the hair algae I have is on my rockscape.
