Hi there all,

My little purple sea whip frag has been doing really great so far, but it came lose from its frag plug this morning and obviously needs to be remounted.

I watched a video saying to remove the soft tissue where you’re going to super glue it using a razor blade (yikes!), but I’m afraid to do it. Is there a better way or do I just need to suck it up?

Thank you in advance! FB539FA0-B87A-4C6B-954D-1EB5C82FAC57.jpeg

I attach it to a rock with coral putty such as holdfast

I just strip off the end 1/4" with my fingernail and stick it in a hole in my rockwork with a little dab of superglue gel. The tissue grows over the glue and onto the rock pretty quickly.

Awesome, I totally forgot that I have two tubes of this stuff laying around. Definitely easier than drilling holes in a plug. Thank you!

Good deal, that’s definitely less intimidating that using a razor blade. Thank you!!

I took a bit of each of your advice:

Made a little epoxy dome over a clean plug and poked a hole through it with a small Allen wrench. Scraped away the tissue from about 1/4" of the bottom of the frag with my fingernail (hurt my heart a bit to do it :(), filled the hole with super glue, and stuck 'er in there.

Definitely ticked the poor thing off, but it's a trooper and back to its happy little self :)

Thanks again for the great advice!
