So I am in the process of finishing up the setup for my new rimless build. I am trying to keep things as clean as possible and was wondering if anyone has there vortechs mounted upside down (i.e., wire pointing down instead of up per instructions). I was thinking of doing this to try to hide the wire as much as possible. I realize that when I remove the wet half the dry side will fall away from the tank. Anyone have any thoughts on this.

Thanks

I would imagine if you mounted the zip tie mount below and attached it close to where the chord meets the dry side. That would still prevent it from falling and causing any damage.

The only time I've had one fall, was after a brief power outage and a certith had gotten into the wet side.

The reason why ecotech want you to put the cord pointing up. So you can hold the dry side up if the wet and dry side come apart. So the dry side don't fall on the ground And break. you can point the power cord anyway you want but make sure the dryside won't hit the ground or hard on the stand.

Yeah, mine is mounted upside down as well. Been about 9 months and haven't had any problems. Just use one of the mounts directly under the dry side. If it falls, it just kind of leans back, trust me, my kids have tested it more than once.

They kinda have good hold on my tank with 3/4 inch thickness, upside down. I still need to secure it later though, just in case.

My MP10 needs to be right side up it doesn't hold good enough w/my glass. My Mp40 however isn't going anywhere so it's upside to hide the cord a little better.
