I have several frags of different color acans still on plugs stuck in the sand. I have a flat rock that I was going to mount the frags to. Should I remove them off the plugs or drill the rock to set them in? Since they all are doing great on the bottom of the tank, I was leaving the rock on the sand. Are there any advantages mounting either way.

I usually glue them down to the rock just like any other coral. Acans tend to become golf ball shaped before they encrust and stretch out. Leaving them on the plug IMO will only make them more ball shaped as they grow.

Thanks for the help. I think for now I'll break the stem and place them where I would like them to be and see how they react before permanently mount them.
