Usimg two Hydra 26 on my 36”!wide tank. Seems it would be best to mount them 12” from each side of the tank. Thoughts?

Does 12" give good led spread / that minimizes shadows and hot spots?
 
Maybe 9” from each side? Then it would be basically 18” coverage for each light?
 
Orphek OR3 reef aquarium LED bar
Still looking for some feedback
