Hey all i have Red Sea a e max 170 no sump. Got an apex looking to mount on stand. Don’t want a separate cabinet or board. Does anyone know if it’s safe to screw the apex directly into stand? Will it change structural integrity? Thanks

the cabinet is empty except for a covered 5g trigger rodi bin.

Just a couple of mounting screws? It should be 100% OK.

If you aren’t using the included power strip you could use the pre drilled mounting holes for the power strip to attach a large plastic/polypro sheet or cutting board. Then screw the apex modules onto that. All that said I’ve screwed into the cabinet in many locations and it’s been fine for the last 2 years

I have stuff screwed and hanging all over inside of my reefer 170 cabinet. Just drill a small pilot hole and use a drill stop collar or something similar, a piece or rubber tubing etc. To make sure you don't drill through the cabinet. Obviously also make sure your screws are not too long. Drilling some small holes in cabinets does not effect structural integrity. If it did we couldn't have hinges ;)
