Mounting ATI Sunpower inside the canopy or DIY mounting legs

I picked up a ATI sunpower used and want to mount it in the canopy, my wife likes the closed top look.

I would like to see pictures of how others have mounted the ATI fixture in a canopy or DIY mounting legs

I have got the hood yet, waiting for delivery, I believe the mounting height will be 8-10 in. Is it going to produce too much heat if the t5 fixture is mounted in the hood

Yes, you require fans in the canopy and do not cover the air inlet of the ATI fans, 8" to 10" is a good distance for the lamp.

I recently switched to Radions with the sale, but I ran a 60” ATI T5s for years in my canopy. I took the light board with the reflectors, endcaps and ballasts attached out of the metal housing and made wooden legs to support it on top of the tank about 6” above the water in the hood. … with a fan in the hood and out of the metal housing it reduced a lot of the heat. I had to disconnect the plug wiring from the board to remove it from the hole in the metal housing then reconnect it again.

You can put the fixture resting on wood, and on the frame, then put the canopy over it without any problems!

That way may work for you, but my hood sat on the tank framing and the fixture was too long and it wouldnt fit plus without canopy fans it would get hot. I had just enough room with the board for either the legs I made or even hood brackets/sliders … sorry I don’t have pics of it installed because I removed it, but here is what the board looks like
