Has anyone mounted their powerheads vertically? If so, how is the flow?

I have 2 with one on each side mounted horizontally. I like the flow but was considering mounting them vertically on the back wall to reduce their visibility in the tank.

The flow is good. It's in a cube though. Mine is on the back wall.

I had mine vertical in my 125 on the ends because they wouldn't fit horizontally between the front pane and the overflow.

Flow was ok. Having them horizontal in my 60 gets more even flow throughout the whole tank than when they were vertical in the 125.

Yes I do like the undertow they create when mounted horizontally. I think another downside is you'd lose quite a bit of surface agitation with them mounted vertically. Decisions, decisions...

I run mine vertically in the rear corners of a 75. Flow is great. I have to run an MP-10 to push any film to the overflow and stir the surface.

I have a 170L tank with 2 230's mounted vertically. Flow is great! If I run over 20%, I start moving sand. Surface agitation is great as well.

In my 240 Tall Tank i have two 3k s one is at top of the Tank pushing water across the surface the other is on the back wall at the opposite end of the tank . Both are running in Alternating mode ..

Every tank has different dimensions and stocking, mount it however you need it to get a good flow pattern.
