I am running into a issue hanging my led lights. I can't hang it from the ceiling and I can't mount a support arm to the tank stand due to the overflow box would be in the way. Does anyone have any ideas on how to mount them?

I used a kitchen cabinet above my tank, I used one of the small ones that go above your fridge. I used thin aluminum tubing and drilled holes in it and that's how I mounted my lights. This will work for some lights but may not work for all, I have ecotech radions and it worked pretty well. One reason I went with the cabinets is so I can put all the cords and other items in the cabinet to keep it clean look, and I also have plug ins in the wall Inside the cabinet.

Do you have any pics of the setup?

Because I have a 300 gallon tank I used two cabinets against back wall with 3 lights and I have a 6' arm mount for my other 3 lights.

Here is what I wound up doing having the same issue. Bought a ready finished shelf at Lowe's and shelf brackets that would center the lights perfectly.

I had the same problem -- overflow in the way so not able to mount using one support arm. Ended up getting a few 1.5" x .75" x 7' lengths of mahogany, some stainless steel screws and nuts/bolts at HD and made this yesterday:

Thanks :) A couple more shots showing a couple 2.5" screws in the ends of the upright and how it was mounted to the stand. Had to pre-drill all of the holes so the mahogany wouldn't split. It might be a little too high but easy to shorten. Peace

I might be wrong, but it appears as if the overflow box could be moved to the right or left 3 inches? That would allow a tank stand mount to be used. Or have a few friends help carefully wiggle the tank and tank stand out away from the wall another .75"? Then you could just run a mount directly behind the overflow.
