mounting location of your dosing pumps......

Today I purchased the Bubble Magus RM-T01 dosing pump 'combo'. It includes the pumps, containers for the supplements, mounting bracket for the pumps, and hang on the tank bracket for the lines going to the tank.

I was wondering where people are mounting their dosing pumps. I have the JBJ 45 gallon all-in-one rimless tank, so I don't have a sump underneath the tank.

Should I mount the bracket for the pumps on the wall just about the tank?

Where are people mouning their dosing pumps?

I would test it out but don't see why it can't be placed in the stand and lines run up to tank. I am not familiar with that particular dosing system but mine is located in my fish room and it sucks from above and across fish room then pumps down to sump with no problems. I just use a standard bulk reef supply dosing pump.

A peristaltic pump can go anywhere really in your situation . It isn't relying on head pressure but rather positive displacement and the nature of water being incompressible . As long as you aren't over stressing the tunes or joints causing leaks, you should be good to mount in the stand. The longer the hose, the harder it will work, or if you are restricting the in/outputs the harder it works. In your case you are fine, no need to be above the tank as it isn't going to back siphon. Just regular maintenance on the pump heads is needed.

hey old thread, but I wanted to get a dosing pump for my cube and dont have a sump as well. Just wondering if everything was fine putting the pump in the cabinet and running the lines up to the display

My dosing stuff is in the basement. It's a big help if you own your house and do not have someone special to complain about a small inconspicuous hole in the floor.
