Mounting powerheads to thick acrylic

Does anyone have a good solution for mounting powerheads on 1" to 1 1/4" inch acrylic? I did the math on a 2x2x2 N52 magnet, and it would have about 9-12lbs of force across that distance to an iron plate. I actually have no idea if that's enough holding force for a powerhead? Anyone else have experience with this, or nifty tricks?

Buy a bigger magnet plate style neodymium magnets have a ton of pull force and work great as long as they are not exposed to saltwater (you can also find some that are coated in nylon or rubbery stuff)

Why not just buy power heads that are designed for thicker tank walls?

So exactly which powerheads are actually designed for tank walls as thick as 1 1/8" thick? I see the Maxspect gyre 280's will do 1.25, which admittedly is pretty good (but are sadly not controllable by an apex). Anything else? WAV's only do 1".

Both the vortech MP60 and WAV will be OK on 1 1/8”. Just support the vortech dry side properly.
