Am I able to regularly mount single RMS mounting arm for XR30 on a Red Sea Reefer 250 without any modification?

To make it centre, I have to mount the arm on the overflow box area. Is this possible? I don't have the mounting arm with me yet. That's why I am asking here.

thanks,

Yes it is possible to mount that arm -BUT- you do have to modify the overflow cover just a bit to allow for the arm to fit properly. It is a very simple and obvious modification and you should be totally able to do this. My advice would be to use a dremel and cutting wheel. 10 mins job tops.

The overflow cover already has a section designed to be removed to allow light arms to be mounted behind it. You can just cut that section out with a Stanley knife or similar. As suggested by @2000se above however cutting your own piece out using a Dremel or equivalent will be neater. That is what I did in my 525 XL to mount the centre of my 3 ReefLED 90s. The standard cutout section Red Sea provide is quite large and depending on your mount you may be able to get away with a substantially smaller one if you cut your own. A fine file and sandpaper to finish will give you a very neat job.
