Mouth inflammation/disease (Gramma)

Hello guys,

I do aquaculture research with Gramma brasiliensis and I'm facing a problem... A few fish have already died from this mouth inflammation or whatever that is. It occurred mostly in adult males and the fish will eventually stop eating and die from the lack of oxygenation in the gills. The microbial analysis showed no pathogenic bacteria and now I wonder if this could be the result of bristle worm setae.. Maybe when fish tries to eat them or remove them from the macroalgae nest...

Has anyone seen this or something like this before.. Any thoughts? Thanks a lot.

I don't know.Bristol worms can leave some mean barbs though.Bumping this up for you.
