I got this from Matt as a backup frag for him little almost 2 years ago fortunately he's local to me and we coral bank with each other.

I have the rainbow Envy as well but it's too small to tell the difference. In talking with Matt he mentioned the growth structure and polyp color was different if I recall correctly.

And to think I almost gave this piece back to him about a year ago because it just didn't seem to be showing any potential

Does the color wash out under whites like the WD or is it more opaque like OP?

No it doesnt wash, i have the original WD which frankly is pretty bland under my LEDs were this stands out-ill post pics of that later once I move it

Corals do morph under different lighting and I did move my WD into my T5 tank, ill have it and this growong in same tank side by.
Also in that tank will be the Matys Rainbow Envy, RRC Orange Passion vs Sexy Mikes Orange Passion

Can't wait to see how it turns out! I have RRC OP, SC OP and WD as well. My WD is a winner under blues but almost looks bleached under whites. I've been following your main thread for awhile now and fell in love with the Orange Envy when you first introduced it. Please put me on the list for when you decide to frag it.

I'll be truly impressed if this shines under whites

I have the WD and SC OP but both needs alot of blue LEDs to even show color. Maybe the colors show well when the colony is larger?

It would be nice to see the orange envy and rainbow envy side by side.

I've the pieces you mentioned as well as RRC OP and in my honest opinion I think SC OP has better base color than RR OP and WD.

I'll post a non blue light pic, those are easy, I was trying to get the look I see under the blues and this is it.

Post 77 shows colors under whiter light, granted its a cell pic but you can see the purplish tips on some branches as well the green/blue body and the orange polyps with darker near red on the shaded areas

A few posts above that you'll see my WD frag that's really blah and somewhere in that thread I show the SC OP which has better body color than WD (IMO)

I'll be updating the other thread later, my new camera shows tomorrow yippee!!
