Let’s say I buy a tang that dies in treatment because I failed to diagnose properly , I now have to buy that tang again and hope he doesn’t die . So yes I would buy fish that were more expensive because in essence I just did . Pay double price . I purchase from LA DD because of the healthy stock , I dislike going to LFS that are like revolving doors . Mark up the fish plop them in the tanks and hope for a quick turnover before it dies. Very few shops I know actively treat ick and velvet , I see it often, others don’t they just purchase sick fish and plop in their tank . They all perish and start again . So someone that takes the time to acclimate and treat will have my business. If they also focus on captive bred better yet. I even look to captive bred inverts snails and urchins knowing I have better chance with them .
