So I have a 10-gallon tank that I bring to college with me. So far I have brought it to college and back home with no issues but that was when I only had coral in my tank. Now I have one clownfish in the tank so I need help knowing how I should move him safely. It is 1.5 hours away and I am driving.

For 1.5 hours you can go ask your local LFS for a few large fish bags. Just double bag him and to be extra safe, don't feed in the 24 hours leading up to the trip.

Your clown will be fine, and this is much easier than dealing with an open bucket and water sloshing around....

all good advice, fish should be fine 1.5 hrs. Livestock are overnight shipped (granted with plenty of oxygen placed in bag) and survive.

Yup. I used to move my nano from San Francisco to San Diego twice a year. These trips included a clownfish that I had for several years. The biggest trick for me was not messing the sand bed up... draining as MUCH water as possible (moist but not sand/water which moved and sloshed) then keeping the tank as flat as possible in the car.

The fish I bagged along with the corals and rocks then stored the bags in 5 gallon buckets. This served two functions 1) in case of bag puncture the water did not flood my car 2) with several bags in the bucket they kept their temperature better than single bags would in my car. You would also rather things get too cold than too hot.

The fish will have less on an issue with the move than the rock and sand... and the health of the rock and sand will in the end have more of an impact on the tank health than anything.
