Ramona I am not sure of the brand. But I don't have crushed coral, I use dolomite.

Mick I love Platypuses. When I was down under in another life I thought I would see some. But only saw Supermodels which was fine.

Glad the move went well paul!
Tank looks great, love the foot print you went with.
Not windows but might be able to get your flood insurance to agree that flood vents decrease your flood risk and rate. While reducing moisture buildup. what they are used for outside of flood plains anyway, no idea how well it works. When i converted my garage into a room they made me add one to keep my rate from being astronomical. Was less annoying than the removing of the popcorn texture that was on every wall and the ceiling [emoji23].

Not surprised you didn't see any platypus when you were here Paul. I've lived here for fifty years and never seen one in the wild. (They are very shy and secretive.)

Gareth, I didn't tell anyone about the tank, sink or anything else. I am sure everything I do is illegal.. ;Wideyed

GBR I was in Kings Cross, not much Platypus activity there.

Everything is going well. I have been painting the Man cave/fish room and the fish don't even mind some drops of paint in the water.

The county that I go to so I can collect my own fish requires a permit to use their ramp facilities for any reason, including parking, even if you don't launch a boat. Maybe it is the same with your boat ramp Paul? There are other counties in my state where the use is free, and others where you need a permit to launch a boat, but not for parking. At any rate, I buy a permit for that one county because quite simply, it has the best fish collecting of all of the places that I've tried. Maybe there is another park near you that is easy to drive up to so you can get water easily that isn't a ramp...

When you broke down your tank, any sign of the clingfish? Or his he history?

I have not found the clingfish or any porcelain crabs or Harliquin shrimp. They were probably either in the gravel which is in a bucket in very cold water or in another vat with the rest of my rocks in cold water so they are most likely toast. Or ice cubes.
I am surrounded by water here so I will find other places. I have a beach parking permit so now I just need an off road permit. They permit you to death here.

it is so folks like you ( not that there are any folks quite like you Paul) don't go stealing all the ocean for a fish tank. you gots to have permission and be regulated to steal ocean water.

Lol! ain't that the truth.

I guess if they didn't require you to get permits for everything, the people who work in those permit offices wouldn't have anything to do except to collect sea water.

They permit you to death here.
Only if you have the correct permit

Careful Paul, They likely need a permit for you to die also.

Well there is a gigantic military cemetery here also so they can plant me there if I croak while I am siphoning water and choke on a hermit crab.

Hermit crab choking permit denied. (Must be resubmitted in triplicate. Along with a signed statutory declaration that the hermit crab will be returned by you afterwards.)

Minimum processing time 6 months. (You cannot afford the mininum processing time.)

Oh, and your first five applications will be lost.
