About 10 years I moved my tank several hundred miles in 100+ summer heat. I put the fish into one cooler with a couple small pieces of live rock and battery powered air pump. The rest of the live rock, inverts, a clam and coral went in a second cooler, also with an air pump. The only thing that died, 3 days later, was a cleaner shrimp I didn’t give enough time to acclimate to the new tank.
I had extra water in buckets, just in case, and I opened the lids and ran a small skimmer (mostly for aeration) and heaters when we stopped. It was stressful, but I still have the clownfish that moved with me almost 9 years ago.
