What is the best way to move a 55 gallon tank to put a 125 gallon tank in its spot? I was thinking to put most of the water in a big trash can maybe 2 of them and put the fish and love rock in them and leave some water in the tank for the live sand and gravel and then after I move it put the same water that was in the tank back in there so there's no cycle would this work or what should I do

That's a good start. Your gonna want so.e new water made and ready. When you get to the end the water will be so crappy you won't want to use it.make sure you have heaters and water pumps in the buckets just in case it takes.longer than planned.and I don't know how old your sand is but if its too dirty I would get new sand and seed it from the old sand.

That is exactly what I did.....I put the live rock, fish, and coral into Brute cans with heaters and power heads. They stayed that way for almost a week while I swapped tanks. I reused everything except the sand and experienced 0 ammonia through the whole process.

^^^^^ can't put it any different^^^^^^
New sand or rinse your old sand really good if you on a budget.
Mix plenty of new mixed water after you done the transfer as you don't if it happens and you have to do a large water change that you don't have any.
Have some bacteria on hand to spike the tank according directions on a tank transfer.
Good luck and keep us up to date on the process>
