Small japanese chisels will allow you to remove a small portion of the rock along with the foot.
If you can get the rock it's holding on to under a wet saw then it can be done pretty easily, imo. You have to sacrifice some of that rock but the mushroom will be relatively safe if you are careful while cutting.
Some people have reliable luck moving shrooms without a saw or chisel but I have not been able to do it.Gotcha, so basically don't try to move the actual shroom. They just attach for good any trying to remove is damaging?
Got it thanks. It's on a huge piece right now that won't actually fit into DT.Some people have reliable luck moving shrooms without a saw or chisel but I have not been able to do it.
They also move themselves without incident but never the way I have wanted them to go.
I have a bunch on the sidewall of my reef that I need to relocate to my wife’s new tank and some will likely not make it. They are not big dollar bounce shrooms but I still don’t like trying to relocate them.
Also. When you cut them off a rock the rock that they are holding onto makes a nice surface to glue in place at the new location.
