Hello,

I would like to setup a brand new IM vision 10 and put the life from a 3.5 gallon DYI system. What is the best way to do this? The 3.5 gallon is taking way to much time to keep in good shape. It's fun to do but going on vacation of not having time for an hour of care everyday.

I was thinking I can take the rocks and the sand. Take the biological media from the filter of the old tank and put that as well in the new system. I was going to treat it like the tank cracked and how I moved my wife tank to a replacement which seemed to work fine.

There is a rose anemone some acans, a flower pot and a clown fish.

Thanks for the time,

Michael

You should be fine moving stuff from the smaller tank to the new one. Just do it in steps, rock and sand first, wait for things to clear up, then add fish and any loose corals last. You could even add the same water from the old one to the new one but you'll of course have to add more new water since the new tank is a larger system.

Wow fast reply,

thanks so much I thought that would work just making sure.
Anyone else have a thought I'm all ears.
