hello
I have a little nano in my bedroom and I want to move it downstairs in my house.. my question is is it okay for me to remove 100% of the water to move it and then replace it when it's completely moved there will be plenty of good bac etc still in my substrate ?
Yes or if it’s a nano maybe remove just enough so you can carry it as there are corals in there and if you use new saltwater you would need to make sure the water parameters are similar
Its just like doing a very large water change as long as it’s done relatively quickly
I would put half the water in a new trash can put rocks and coral in it drain the rest after the move add original water back and fill with new will be like a water change
I wouldn't change all the water myself to not make potential chemistry changes as drastic. Stick to 50% and expect a mini-cycle due to stirring up a bunch of crap. Your bacteria will be fine as long as you don't let the rock and sand dry out and/or be without oxygen for too long.
