I am moving in about 2 months. I've never had to move more then one tank before. I have a 30g fresh, 75g w/sump(saltwater), 40g w/o sump(saltwater). Any advice would be much appreciated like what did y'all do about water, what did y'all do with your fish. Please and thank you

5 gallon buckets are your best friends. Depending on your livestock, put the fish in one bucket, loose corals in another bucket or bags then rocks in a bucket. The buckets are easy to transport and you can use the water in them to get the tank partially refilled. If the trip is a long one you can out battery powered bubbles on the buckets.

Discard the old sand and put new sand in once the tanks are in place. To minimize cloudy water, put plastic on top of the sand then add water, then remove the plastic

Keep in mind that, depending on the temp outside, the water temp in a bucket can drop pretty quickly. I moved some fish across town recently and some of them were literally immobile when I got them home. They all did fine once warmed up, but I could have easily lost a couple.

and if you have long hoses or can get a trailer or truck close to the new place, a plastic 55g drum is great for hauling a lot of water. Try to keep as much of the old water as possible, but don't stress over it.

Thanks guys for the advice. Not sure if it will be a long move yet but I'm thinking the buckets will be the best idea
