So have a question. I've got a nice little acan garden going and all are doing very well. One particular one though has jumbo polyps got it from ASD as a four head acan. One single head is larger than others I have with many heads. They are more of an umbrella type more similar to my blastos.

Anyway was looking at it the other night and realized it has about 8 new heads I couldn't see under the large ones. Once those babies start to pop up this thing will be taking up so much real estate I thought I should give it it's own space and move it from the garden. I tried to bother it a little to be able to grab the skeleton and pull it off the rock. It refracted just slightly but it's so meaty I couldn't get to the skeleton. I dont want to just grab it by the flesh. Any suggestions? Would it just be better to move the others?

Thanks guys

My opinion, I say let it grow. They will look great as they all grow together
Thanks man you are always quick to answer. Just didnt know if it would just dwarf everything around it.

I am really digging acans and they are doing great. Thinking of making another area for them as well

I'm pretty excited all new heads are morphing and more colorful than the originals. Accept for the Japanese. Same color but grows head after head but very tight together. Interesting to see how different that one is

Your welcome. When we had a garden growing some started with very large heads while others seemed regular. As they grew in they all looked pretty cool together. Acans are definitely a must have IMO. The color changes that acans can go through is pretty amazing.

Always looking for a new color. Got a new one the other day but not sure what color it is yet.

Looks great! I say keep it there!
For future reference if you want to remove acans just lightly push with your knuckle parallel with the rock, they pop right off as long as they haven’t been there for a few years :p

I will agree with what others have said since the contrast between the polyp size will look good as they grow together. If you are worried about space you may just move on or two of the smaller ones further out to give them space to fill. Most of my acans don't mind each other, I actually like seeing them folding all over each other during the day. :D

Are you doing anything special so they grow that fast?
Honestly I think its lower par and decent flow. Polyps just gently move about in varied flow. I do feed them reef roids and they puff up like crazy.

I'm new to reefing so really can't say exactly what it is lol

Good tip. I just did move one of the reds closest to it for some extra space. The red is looking amazing with new colors coming in. There is a new head underneath that's tough to see but almost looks neon green

For me, I notice awesome colors when feeding particulate foods like reef roids, plus the occasional meaty foods like small chunks from Reef Frenzy.

They definitely snag mysis and rods but haven't target fed meaty foods. Have just recently starting feeding rottifers to the tank as well

Very nice. If you like acans you should check out Ed’s shop here in the Bay. Clear Water Aquarium. He has tons, such crazy ones to. I got this from him a few months ago.

Both these actually. Rainbow orange chalice is growing good for me :) I loved that acan though, it got knocked off by accident a few weeks ago so it’s recovering now, not as fluffy.

Nice. Never heard of it? Where is it?

Most of my stuff is from ASD. Few things from all about fish. They don't always have the most interesting stuff but its closest to me

Recently found a nice little shop in fremont/Newark though

Yeah, they will get whatever they can. Just watch how much you feed. I get carried away once in a while lol.
Lol for sure. Target feed reef roids once a week other than that they get what they get. My blastos on the other hand often over gorge themselves lol

San Jose. Clearwater is good for acans, infinite aquarium is good for old schools, Neptune is good for variety but way over priced.
