Moving bed filters

So, being couped up in the house for the last two weeks I think I watched every reef video on YouTube. I've come across some pretty cool fresh water filter setups. I see allot of moving bed or fluidized filters, which filter HUGE ponds compared to their size.

Does anyone use these on reef setups? Particularly ones with k1 type media.

I use the Bashea bio reactor which is a moving bed and uses a proprietary media similar to K1
