Hey guys:

I'm going to add sand to my system, because I miss some of the sand requiring fish. The only coral I have that has encrusted on the bottom is a cyphastrea. Is there any way to remove it from the bottom without having to cut it down? There isn't a huge amount of growth, but enough I'd like to save it if possible.

Any ideas?

There's an old saying about making an omelet and having to break some eggs.

You're going to damage the cyphastrea a little but it'll recover. I would be more cautious about damaging the tank itself.

Damage the tank how?

I figured that would be the case...most of the coral is on a rock, so it should be ok.

ahh, gotcha! Its acrylic but I understand what you meant now.

Thanks
